Jane grew up in Bristol, inspired to draw at school by a brilliant art teacher, Mr Icke.
She studied Fine Art at The Ruskin in Oxford and Art History at the Courtauld Institute in London and worked in the film and TV industry as a Scenic Artist and Prop Maker, before escaping to live on the remote Welsh Island of Skomer. There she monitored seals for a living and compiled a book, Skomer – Portrait of an Island, first published in 2007 (Graffeg Publishing).
Jane now lives and works in Shetland. She illustrated her first children’s book, Aubrey and the Terrible Yoot, by Horatio Clare (Firefly Press) in 2015 followed in 2017 by the sequel, Aubrey and the Terrible Ladybirds (Clare, Firefly).
